Life-Changing Lessons from the Storm
“This…” my voice was barely a whisper in the pre-dawn darkness, “This is crazy…”
By this point, it would be safe to say that I was “stumbling” from exhaustion - except for a three-hour nap in the middle of the night, I had been working frantically for nearly twenty-four hours to clean up our heavily storm-damaged property and protect it from further damage.
About two hours before dawn I had forced myself to take a quick walk in order to clear my head…
But I was genuinely, truly exhausted.
I was practically delirious, I had a TON of questions, and I wasn’t even sure what to pray…
But over the last twenty years of doing my best to follow Jesus, and watching Him move miraculously - repeatedly - in the most challenging situations I KNEW that He would eventually take our current situation and turn it into something beautiful.
So I thanked Him.
In advance.
“God I don’t understand, but I know that you will use this situation for good - please… show me what you want me to do - what you want me to learn…”
And suddenly I realized that I had actually been given a GIFT, and I was flooded with a powerful FEELING of gratitude.
I realized that I had been allowed to glimpse the fragility of the things that we often tend to trust in life - that by having some of my “foundations” shaken I had just come face-to-face with the reality that Jesus is the ONLY sure foundation.
And I realized that seeing this first hand is actually a priceless gift - valuable because it allows us to shift our trust from unstable things to the one place it actually should be - the person of Jesus.
In this video, I share this realization in a little more depth - we hope it’s an encouragement to you today, and possibly a resource you can use to encourage the people in your life who might need a reminder of the great love of that Jesus has for them.
We have seen that Jesus is ready to walk with us through any storm, and we are more convinced than ever that He longs to bring freedom, forgiveness, and healing to those who desperately need it.
And this is why we do what we do.

2020 has been a year of incredible challenges, but we are more convinced than ever that Jesus is STILL the answer.
We've had to reschedule many of our upcoming outreaches (Zambia, India, and Haiti) until later in the year, but we're still committed to the goal of reaching as many people as possible in every nation with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
